About the Wilson Reunion
Jesse and Miram Wilson, the patriarch and matriarch of this Wilson Clan moved to Moravia in 1857 from North Carolina. They had seven children: Nathan, Abel, Mary, Rachel, Ephriam, John and Martha. Rachel married and was moving away from Moravia in August 1910 to homestead in Wyoming, so the family was called together for a reunion. The 1910 gathering started a tradition that had been carried on for 96 years. The reunion was held at Miriam's farm for several years. It was held at the home of the children for several years. It has been held at the Moravia City Park since the 1950's. The reunion is always held on the Sunday closest to the 16th of August, which was Miram's birthday, and is still held within 5 miles of its original location.

7-30-07 LaVora Stearns Reports:

Hi Kerry:  Received your "cute" information about the Wilson Reunion.  I remember the times that I have been there.  Its been quite awhile tho.  I am the daughter of Austin Broshar, whose mom was Rachel Wilson Broshar Hart.  In the past I have written and sent letters each year to Doris Wilson, and the last few years I have not heard anything about them or even got info like this.  I don't know if I have met you or not, and I wonder who you belong to?   Just to bring you up to date, I am 84 years old, live in Vista, Ca. and lost my husband, Harry Carthel Stearns, Feb. 4, 2003.  I am a chip wood carver, which means that I put patterns on plates, jewelry boxes, etc and I chip carve them out.  I belong to Craft-T-Carvers, an RV wood carving chapter in the California Carver's Guild.  We go on campouts each month, Thurs,Frid,Sat to  different RV parks in So.Calif.  I have a 27ft. Jamboree Motor Home. Carthel and I joined this group in 1984, and we have about120 members.  I was the first woman president of it in 2003-04, been membership chairman, etc.  For the past 3 years I have been the Treasurer and Reservation chm.  I enjoy this very much.  I also belong to a local carving group, which meets every week. I have two sons, Jeff, who lives in Lake Orion, Michigan,  He is a lawyer, married and has a son in college, and a step son.  Greg, lives about 8 miles from me in Fallbrook, Ca.  He is retired military, owns a big business, TelTechPlus in Vista.  They do telecommunication work, etc. for the military and other business.  He is married, has three sons.  My sister, Arlene Boulio, passed away Jan 16, 1998, and her husband, Bob Boulio, passed away Oct. 31, 2005. My cousin, Charles Costadt, son of Fern Broshar Colstadt Hedges, passed away June 30,2006.    That is about all the things that I thought you might need for your files, unless you have them all ready.  I wish I could come, but all the oldies that I know are gone, with the exception of Mardeena and Doris and Lois.  I still hear at Christmas time from most of them and alwaysenjoy Glen Moritz's card.  I don't travel that far alone anymore.   Tell all hello,   Love, LaVora Broshar Stearns.  You can always reach me by email or phone 760-724-6507.  .
Hi Kerry:  You really got back to me fast!  Thanks so much.  I do remember your grandpa, Leonard, his brother Spencer, and especially Dick Wilson.  Also Nell Rouseau, and some of the others.  I am pleased that you younger people are keeping the wilson Reunion going.   Not many would do that.  Take care and keep me informed.  LaVora

Hi Kerry:  I talked to my cousin, Jacquie Stevens, and she said she had not received any notice of the reunion for the past ten years.  Could you send her one?  She is Fern Broshar Hedges daughter.  1045 No. Azusa Ave. Sp. 239, Covina, CA 91722-2658.  She does not have a computer.  I know she would have something interesting to send you.  Take care, LaVora

Send it to Mary too. spotll@frontiernet.net
Your mom was right--I loved it.
Glad to hear they are doing all right. I talked to them at Christmas. Time flies for sure.
Jane
We have good news for both. Bruce did great--or his dr. did. They did have him spend the night.  Mack got such good news that the cancer isn't anywhere else in his body so he sees the surgeon tomorrow. We will keep you posted.
Love you both,
Jane

Kerry:

Thanks you for the information on the Wilson

Reunion. Unfortunately we have an unavoidable conflict and will not be

able to attend. We are keeping our calendar open for the 200th Reunion and

expect to attend and celebrate that auspicious event. Please keep us on

the mailing list and thanks again for all of your effort.

Bill Rains

Sounds good.  Hope all is well.
See you at reunion time.
