We had a lot of fun. We were really surprised. We knew "something was up". Kacey had bought Joyce a new outfit, and asked her to wear it, and asked me to wear a suit. They blind folded us, and took us to the restaurant. They walked us in, turned on the lights, and 34 people yelled "SURPRISE". It took me a few moments for my eyes to adjust to the light after being blindfolded. Then I started looking around and I said: Oh, there's Bruce and Debbie, and Rick and Laura and Sammy and Donna. Oh Look, there's Andy and Jinger, and Andy's parents. Hey, there's my family; they must have come here from Georgia. Even Jim and Harry are here, and so on. I was so amazed. I couldn't believe it. It was like "This is your life", or like the last scene in "It's a Wonderful Life" , when the whole town comes in and brings presents to George. Then he noticed a copy of the book Tom Sawyer, a gift from the Clarence the angel that he had left for George. On the inside cover of the book, Clarence had inscribed the words: Remember no man is a failure who has friends. Thanks for the wings! Love Clarence. Thank you everybody. Thanks for the gifts. Special thanks to our "kids", Kelly, Kacey, and Josh who planned this, decorated, ordered the flowers, and mailed invitations. Thanks also to Rita and Ted Moncus, Flower's by Rita for the flowers. - Kerry Wilson
