SATURDAY 10-11 - The Alabama Fallen Firefighter Memorial Service will be Saturday October 11, 2008. The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 1030 hrs. Last year we held the first annual motorcycle ride to this event. This is going to be an annual ride to this sacred ceremony. I want this ride that honors our fallen brothers and sisters to be the largest single motorcycle ride held annually in the state of Alabama. The Fallen Firefighter Memorial has no funding source so we ask for voluntary donations to be contributed to the Fallen Firefighter Memorial. This year we will meet at Cracker Barrel located at I-459 and US 280 just east of Birmingham. All bikes should be full of fuel and ready to ride by 0830 hrs and will pull out at 0900 hrs. Anyone wanting to eat should arrive early enough to eat and be ready to ride at the scheduled time. This ride will be escorted from Birmingham to Tuscaloosa only. Once we arrive at the Winn-Dixie on Hwy 69, we will stage in the parking lot. At 1010 hrs we will ride together down to the fire college to make a grand entrance where we will line the street in front of the memorial with bikes. We are asking for a minimum donation of $10.00 per person for the memorial. We welcome all motorcycle riders, motorcycle groups, motorcycle clubs for this ride. Please send this email to everyone that rides and together we will make this a true memorial ride. I look forward to riding with everyone again this year.

This ride is sponsored by Hoover Firefighters Local 4035 and the Red Knights MC Alabama Chapter 2.  Please make plans to come out and support this ride.  This ride is open to everyone, so please spread the word.
