Instructions for customing the Opening Ceremony on a Honda GL1800 Gold Wing

1) Press the MODE button to cycle to the "OPENING/ENDING CEREMONY" screen.

2) Press the TRIP button, then the DISP button and hold both buttons down. The MODE on the LCD display will change to "SET".

3) Wait two or three seconds, then press the MODE button.

4) Release all buttons. The display should now show "STANDARD" in the middle line.

5) Use the DISP button to select "SPL." The display should now show "SPECIAL" in the middle line.

6) Press the TRIP button to select "NEXT." The display should now show "CHANGE OK?" in the middle line.

7) Press the MODE button to select "YES."

8) Use te TRIP button to cycle through the alphabet, number and symbol selection. Use this to type in your name, or other special greeting.

9) When you have completed your message press the MODE button to select "SET," which will lock in your special message.

Now make sure to show this neat feature to all of your riding buddies.
