Make a statement with your LED’s. During installation, a few simple wire splices is all it takes to make your LED’s blink alternately with your turn signals. You will wire the right trunk side light and the right saddlebag lights to the right taillight/turn signal and the left trunk side light and the left saddlebag lights to the left taillight/turn signal. If you are only wiring the trunk lights for a trike conversion use only that part of the instructions that apply to the trunk lights. You will need approximately six feet of 22 gauge two conductor stranded wire, four Scotchlok connectors and four inline connectors. Scotchlok connectors provide an easy to use and trouble free connection with the application of dielectric grease or dielectric silicone compound prior to making a splice.

Mount the saddlebag moldings by following the Kuryakyn instructions. Do not make any wire connections at this time. Perform steps 1-6 on the Kuryakyn instruction sheet for the trunk light installation. Remove the seat and both passenger storage compartments. The storage compartments are each retained by four self tapping Phillips head screws located inside the trunk.

The trunk center light molding has a plug at each end. Cut these plugs off ½” from the last light on either side of the molding. Wrap each remaining ½” of wire with electrical tape. You will now have two plugs with 5” of wire each. Plug the power extension wire {Kuryakayn instructions step 8} into the plug in the center of the rear trunk light molding. Mount the center trunk light molding. Splice each of the plugs you cut to a 3ft length of 22 gauge two conductor stranded wire. Plug the connectors into the remaining two light moldings. Mount the light moldings to the trunk.  Route the wires under between the bottom of the trunk, and the panel below the trunk to the inside of the fender. Drill a hole through the fender into the saddlebag area, and pass the wires through.  Cut a small X in the large rubber plug in the taillight opening and pass the wires through. There will be four connections made per side. On the left side the black wire from the trunk will splice into the orange turn signal wire and the black wire from the Kuryakn ‘y’ connector will splice into the orange turn signal wire. The colored wire from the trunk will splice into the brown/white taillight wire and the colored wire from the Kuryakyn ‘y’ connector will splice into the brown/white taillight wire. On the right side the black wire from the trunk will splice into the light blue wire and the black wire from the Kuryakn ‘y’ connector will splice into the light blue wire. On the right side the colored wire from the trunk will splice into the brown/white taillight wire and the colored wire from the Kuryakyn ‘y’ will splice into the brown/white wire. Plug the saddlebag lights into the ‘y’ connectors in the taillight openings. After ensuring that all your lights function properly, apply some silicone sealer to the holes in your saddlebags. Tie the wires under the seat and tape the wires to the top of the inside of the saddlebags. Replace the center rear panel, the trunk bottom panel, passenger storage compartments and seat.
